CD Track Extracting doesnt' work

QT 4 doesn't properly extract the track info from CDs. About 1 second in it just cuts out before continuing to import. The result is a dead space that seems to happen about 90% of the time. Any ideas on how to fix this. All my audio programs use Quicktime to import the tracks from SoundApp Fat to Peak to the Movie Player.
