Hi:

Are you sure it's not ".apc" rather than ".ape"? If so:

"The music, sfx, speech and video (.HNM) soundtracks in some Cryo Interactive games are .APC stand-alone files.

<a href="http://anx.da.ru" target="_blank">http://anx.da.ru</a>
On these sites you can find my GAP program which can search for APC audio
files in game resources, extract them, convert them to WAV and play them back."

Hope this helps,

What can be done with these? I know it is some kind of audio format or compression format. Other than that does anyone know how to process these on a mac?

.ape is MonkeysAudio, a popular lossless compressed audio format.

[edit: lossless meaning it's a perfect copy of the original digital audio unlike mp3 for instance]
