Is there any way to convert DivX movies to VCD's? *loving my newly downloaded VideoLAN Client* ..it plays DivX far better than QT Player

Toast is the easiest, for about $70, mediapipe is free, but harder to configure, and ffmpeg is command-line only and may or may not read your source file. Keep in mind that no matter how big the divx file is, you can only fit about 75 minutes of video on a VCD, so you'll have to make the cuts before encoding to MPEG1.

I think the best way to do it is use Divx Doctor 2 on the Divx to create a .mov file. Get toast and make sure the VCD plugin is installed. Drag the .mov file onto the VCD pane in Toast and it will auto convert it to Mpeg1 used in VCD. I have done this so i know it works.

Converting a 60 minute .mov file to mpeg in Toast takes about 10 hours on my Cube 450. Anyone try this on a dual GHZ PowerMac??? - just wondering how long it takes on the newer Macs...
