I'm looking for something simple, but still cool, where you have a timeline, and you just tell it where you want the different drums/tracks to come in, etc. Something comparable to FruityLoops (PC only). Preferable on OS X. Does anyone know of anything like that.

I'm not looking for free software, but a downloadable demo would be nice.

If you don't want to use a full-blown sequencer like Logic or Cubase, you should look into ReBirth or Reason Propellerhead Software.

It's going to be a while before most audio apps are ported to OSX.

If you want to do sample mixing like the loop programs you mentiond have a look at Groovemaker, or if you want to do more pro stuff, reason is a full Drum machine / sequencer / sampler / synthesiser + mixer rack.. and I love the way you plug and unplug the cables on the back of the devices in reason. it's a novelty but I like it
