What's the best way to deal with iMovie 2 audio quality degradation? Here's my situation: I import an .avi via QTPro to DV stream format and import it into iMovie. When I add a CD audio track under the imported clip, the audio becomes distorted. It doesn't distort under titles and transitions though. Why does this happen and what can I do to improve the quality?

Also I'm on a Powerbook G3/500 with 1GB RAM, OSX 10.1.

hmmm, what seems to work (since I'm talking to myself here) is to first convert the .avi file to a QT .mov, and then convert that file to a DV stream to import into iMovie. Somehow going from an .avi converted to a DV stream doesn't work. So much to know, so little coffee.
