Hey folks,
I have toast 5.1 titanium for X. When I select the video disc option, it says I need to have that extension installed and to reinstall toast. Well, correct me if Im wrong, but OSX dosent use extensions dose it? Also, I already have the extension installed on the 0s9 side. What gives?

thanks!!!

sudo cp ~/ToastVideoCDSupport.component /Library/QuickTime/

which will copy the .component over as the 'root' user, who has permission to modify the QuickTime folder

oh boy, those are a lot of big words that I dont understand.

Really. Talk to me like I'm 8 an maybe I'll have a chance.

It usually asks me for a password to modify things but not this time. It just simply said 'no'.

I'm presuming you have found the ToastVideoCDSupport.component - put it in your home Directory (where your Music/Moviezs/Pictures/Library/Documents folders are.

Open up the Terminal application, which is in /Applications/Utilities and type the command I gave you above.

sudo runs any following command as the 'superuser' who can do anything he likes.

cp is a copy command used like this : cp <original file> <destination>

~ refers to your home directory so ~/ToastVideoCDSupport.component is the ToastVideoCDSupport.component that is located in your home directory

/ is the path the root directory (nothing to do really with root user) of the computer, hence /Applications/QuickTime points to the folder that you are trying to copy ToastVideoCDSupport.component to.

So we put the commands together and we get:

sudo cp ~/ToastVideoCDSupport.component /Library/QuickTime

it will ask you for your password, because you are using sudo.
