streaming video plugin

i just got quicktime 4.0 pro version and the plugin allows me to watch video on microsoft inter. explorer but the same plugin doesn't work for netscape...what gives?

First of all, what version of Netscape are you using? I think 4.5+ is the best for using Quicktime 4. Also, if you installed a newer version of Netscape *after* you installed Quicktime 4.0, the Quicktime 4 plugin didn't get installed into the Netscape plugin folder. Open the IE plugins folder and copy the Quicktime plugin to the Netscape plugins folder. If you have any more questions, email me.

The plugin IS in the plugins folder and was all along but i am using netscape ver. 4.05 so i guess i should just upgrade. thanx

You definitely should upgrade from 4.05 to 4.7. The QT Pro streaming plug-in works great with my iMac DV and OS9 with 4.7 as a browser.

And where should i get it?I went on netscapes website and it says that i have ver.4.05, but it tells me that i have the latest navigator software. Is it not out to download yet or something?

Well, i downloaded Navigator 4.08, installed it and everything, took the workin plugin from M.I.E. copied it put it in the plugin file and.....still the goddamn thing refuses to work! I have no idea what the problem is and personaly i am really pissed (its late) so screw em I'm using internet explorer now, only because it at least works with no hitches. (I feel like i could kick this peice of s**t!)-from office space
