I'm working on making QTVRs from shots taken by a 360 degree film camera. It makes one big shot with about 10% overlap on each end. My first creation method was to scan the transparency we received, crop, color adjust, ect, and then marquee a section 100% of the height and 60% of the width. I then used that marquee to cut and paste from the original shot into 2 new shots, one spanning from left through middle of original, other right through middle. These 2 shots now overlap each other on both ends. Canon Photostitch will then import these and automagically figure out the overlap and spit out a QTVR.

My problem is that no matter what focal length I say it is, my QTVRs are looking like this picture. That chair rail and floor are level in the original, and in photoshop. I also downloaded the VRPanoWorx demo, and used that to process the original pic, w/o any stitching. The results are virtually indestinguishable.
Can anyone advise what to tweak to get these looking more level? The original looks like this:

Also, what tool can define the starting point for a QTVR? When you're in a room like that, facing forward seems much more natural than looking at a distorted row of chairs, which is where it wants to start now.
Thanks!
