Is there a way to adjust the bass in itunes? I love the program but I need more bass.

Just buy a subwoofer. I'm getting enough bass through that. But to really answer your question, I don't think you can. I've yet to hear of/ find a equalizer function or a hack that will adjust the levels. So,a subwoofer is for you, my friend.

Having a subwoofer doesn't mean the computer will output more low frequencies. iTunes has no equalizer but soundjam does (there is a free version, it might have an equalizer) and soundjam is basically iTunes. Another option is to use a "Wowthing" to increase bass (use it for mediocre equipment, not high-fi) at www.wowthing.com , that is, if you are not using usb audio. And the final, best option is to get a new soundcard (like a soundblaster or an audiophile 2496). I guess those are pretty much your options.

you could connect your computer to your stereo and adjust the bass there (if you really want to use the soundoutput of your computer, you can make a second connection to the soundinput of your computer (be sure to set the control panel sound right)).

No duh a subwoofer doesn't "add" to the low freq. output, but what it does do is emphasize what is already there. In my experience, unless it's a crappy mp3 or whatever, there is usually plenty of bass. I do have my output on my G4 running through my stereo, so that does help some. I will probably be getting the Soundblaster card soon, and that will help even more. Anyway, I would still recommend getting a decent subwoofer, it adds so much to the audio.
