I am using OS 9.0.4 International English and iTunes(International English), How can I display multi language song names?
I have many Chinese songs which have Traditional Chinese song names. I have tried to set iTunes to Traditional Chinese in Language Register. However it don't work?

I've sent Kansir my hacked iTunes 1.1 "Hong Kong Version".

If anyone is interested, it is located on "bentonton's" iDisk.

Meanwhile you can make your own:

1. Download the iTunes 1.1 version of your preferred system language (i.e. English) and the version of your preferred song info language (i.e. Chinese).

2. Install the song info language (foreign) version.

3. DO NOT RESTART after installing.

4. Delete all of the iTunes extensions from your system folder. You can list by package in Extensions Manager and all the iTunes extensions are labelled as such.

5. RENAME the new iTunes application to something else, like "Chinese iTunes".

6. Install the iTunes system language version.

7. Restart.

8. Make copies of both apps. Rename your copied system language version to your final preferred name, i.e. "iTunes 1.1HK"

9. Open both copied apps into ResEdit.

10. Copy the entire "DLGX" resource (all capitals -- there's also a "dlgx" resource) from the foreign version to the system version. Click "Yes" when it asks whether to replace resources with the same ID.

11. Quit ResEdit.

12. Compress or delete your original iTunes apps so they don't launch when you launch iTunes from the control strip or a double-clicked file.

13. Now when you launch iTunes 1.1HK, you can display Chinese characters (or Japanese if you use Japanese, or Korean, etc.) English song names will still be listed in English.

Note: There is no possible way to be able to display names in multiple foreign languages. You can't, for instance, list one song in Japanese and another in Chinese.
