Ive just bought a new Hitachi VM-D865 Video Camera and dont seem to be able to rerecord from my B&W G3 back to it. There is no problem recognising the camera because I can record from it, but once edited, it wont go back onto the camera, it starts recording but no image is recorded, just a blue screen. I know that some camerascant rerecord via Firewire, but can someone confirm this or point me in the right direction to find out. I also heard ages ago that you can update the frimware on nonrecording cameras so they are able to, again, any info would be ever so greatly loved. By the way, Im using Imovie 1.0.2 and Premiere 5.1c both to no avail, and Hitachi has closed for the weekend so I cant ring them!

Unusually, yes I did that before I even turned the unit on, which is not normally the case for me as I often like to experiment and discover (after all, thats usually half the fun of these toys!) The manual mentions, VERY briefly, recording to other equipment using Firewire (i-link) but not the reverse process.
