I have a Pismo running 10.1.5 and I'm looking to buy a USB MIDI keyboard so I can play and record with Reason, Live, etc. I'm just getting into these apps and love what they can do.

Can anyone recommend a favorite?

I'm also interested to hear about your setups as well (software/hardware you like or don't like to use for home recording).

i use a pismo as well, but running 9.2.2 (will upgrade to x later this year)

i use the midiman oxygen8, mostly with reason. as a professional, i find the 2 octave keyboard NOT a limit, because...i can take it anywhere. throw the pb, the kybd in a travel bag, and i can make music anywhere. i love this.

midiman has bigger keyboards as well; check out studiologic too.

within a month, there will be the ozone, identical to the oxygen8 but with an audio-to-midi capability: 2 inputs! just so u know...

Been very happy with my 4- octave <a href="http://ssltech.com/proaudio/cart.cgi?page=&cart_id=&detail_display=on& amp;item_id=3509" target="_blank">Roland PC-300</a> which also powers itself from the USB.

Other stuff in my setup include a Tascam US-428, Pro Tools Free (for now) and Reason.
