Since QuickTime 3, Apple has separate QuickTime into the standard and pro version. Mac OS 8.5 shipped with the free QuickTime pro version but it is no longer available with Mac OS 9.
The pro version has more features than the standard version and all you need to upgrade the standard version to the pro version is a registration code and this code is generate base on a name you choose. The pro version of QuickTime allows you to play movies full-screen by adding the Present Movie option under the File menu. If you want to upgrade to the pro version, you can go to the page http://www.apple.com/quicktime for more information.
...or use a different program, such as Play it Cool. The difference between QT Pro and standard are solely in QuickTime Player, not having Pro does not prevent other programs from using all of QT's features, including authoring features.
