I would like to make a movie (a full ±2 hour film not a short-movie), of course I'm going to use 2 iMac's a G4 and an iBook all with FCP3 for video-editing. But my big problem is: should I use a digital camera or an analog camera, the problem with digital is that I don't really like the image that comes out of digital cameras (it looks unnatural) and also, but then again using an analog camera it's less easy to transfer the film to your computer.

Any opinions on what type of camera, digital/analog, analog-to-digital conversion systems etc. ?

Use digital. There are ways to filter the image so it looks more "real." I read some stuff in a MacAddict a few months ago I believe.

It's hard to say without knowing which cameras you have at your disposal...well for starters
Use the G4 for the whole project. Obviously you'll need at least 50 gigs to get the project moving 120 gigs to be safe though.
2hr = aprox 40 gigs but you may need to capture a lot more footage than that to make your 2 hr.movie + render files etc.

As for analog vs digital. Your digital video cam should be firewire ready as is your G4. Digital quality is visibly just as good as analog if not better if shot in decent light and no digital zoom is applied(stick with optical zoom only. Have good lighting! If you can get your hands on a 3ccd cam like the Cannon XL1. your laughing.

A good article over at 2-pop that's worth a look on shooting DV for his new feature film 'Full Frontal'
