Anyone know? Will Canon ever use QuickTime?

I really like Canon digital cameras, but I'm a bit unhappy about the AVI file format they use for their 'movie mode' feature. Anyone heard anything about Canon switching to QuickTime format?

Its the only realy downside to their digital cameras. I could go with Nikon, but I'm not crazy about their designs.
