Help!

I just bought a Sony DCR-TRV720.

Following that, I upgraded from Final Cut Pro 1.0 to 1.2.5 using the downloadable update from Apple's web site.

Now, I have no audio in Final Cut. I can open a QT movie in QT Player, and it works fine, with audio. Open the same movie in FCP, and no sound.

I did have sound in FCP before, but I need the update in order to work properly with this camera.

I'm on a Dual G4/500 using Harmon/Kardon Sound Sticks. I wondered if it might be an issue with USB audio, so I unplugged the USB speakers and couldn't hear anything through the internal speaker. Connecting mini-jack speakers didn't help either.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else seen this? Should I just reinstall 1.0 and try upgrading again?

Thanks for any help you can offer...

As I can see, you get the sound only out of the iLink through the device connected to the Macintosh. Obviously, this device need to have a speaker...

FCP 1.2.5 does indeed have a problem with sound in certain configurations. However, the only real problem that apple knows is when there is a dual video card installed. In many cases hooking up dual video cards and using both (mirroring) for playback on dual monitors will cause audio to be dropped.
If this is what you have going on, than maybe this is an explaination. Try reinstalling and updrading w/out starting up FCP untill you have fully upgraded. Also FCP 1.2.6 is now out as of last Friday.
