Hello all,
I had read that quicktime 5 now supports MPEG-2. Does this mean that future versions of iMovie will be able to encode (export) in MPEG-2? Or does anyone know if this feature is/will be available in FCP? It would be great to make short quicktime movies in MPEG-2 format without having to spend thousands of $$$s on the whole DVD burning thing.

thanks

Toast 5 from Roxio ( http://www.roxio.com ) allows you to export iMovie clips into MPEG format to create VCD's that can be played in many DVD players... it will be a cheaper solution than the DVD burner solution (albeit with a lesser quality).
