Hello all,

excuse my bad english and especially these spelling mistakes, as I'm already a bit on the tipsy side of life for tonight ;-)

I just have my farewell party at my long-term employer "TJ Group", where I worked as a Mac Admin. Anyone ooking for a job in that field? ask Jouko (jouko.markanen@tjgroup.com)..

While the guys were preparing a lot of booze to celebrate me (finally?) going, I set up my PowerBook with a beamer to project iTunes' "visuals" to the sauna room's walls.

Well, to put it short, it was a full success. The party was great. And even these moments where peple didn't know what to say went on smoothly because at least everybody knew where to look at :-)

While our managing Director held a speech, everybody was staring on the visuals, so even that wasn't boring anymore.

All in all, a big success. Well, I know these are great guys and so far every party has been great (we had lots of them in the 5 years I spent at this company) but iTunes really made the difference between a possibly good party and a really great one!

Spread the word! Get a Mac & iTunes to have great parties :-)

PS: for the technical side: iTunes always displays the visuals on the Main Screen. So if you attach a beamer to it, you need to use the "Monitors" control panel to set the mains screen to the projector screen. You may still want to move the iTunes window to the second screen, so you can easily change the songs. I also found it smart to set the beamer's screen to hace a plain black background picture.

Thanks :-)

For my next party, I would wish some kind of "DJ Mode" in iTunes:

If there are multiple monitors connected, I could set the visuals to be displayed on the second one, while the browser remains visible on the main screen. This way I could easily change the songs while the effects keep running..

Or at least that I can choose on which monitor the visuals appear .-)
