Greetings,

It appears from some other notes here that iDVD won't work with external DVD drives, including those that use the same Pioneer mechanism as the Apple SuperDrive.

Do the Pioneer drives work with iDVD when installed internally to a G4/400, or do you need the Apple labeled SuperDrive to use iDVD?

i've got a retail boxed pioneer dvr-a03 in my G4 450 (replaces stock IDE DVD-ROM) that works with iDVD2 (OS X) and DVD Studio Pro (OS 9).

haven't tried it in an external firewire case, though.

If you install the same mechanism internally into a G4 machine - it should work with iDVD

External do not.
