I am looking to purchase a Mini DV cam very soon and was wondering what others would suggest.

Of course I will be working with iMovie/Final Cut Pro so it has to work good with those also.

I am looking to spend around $500-700 US

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

I have been checking out the Canon ZR20 and the JVC DVM50U so far they look like the best.

just wanted to comment... buy from a reputable place... you can try to find deals online - but there are a fair number of crappy places....

I bought from B&H photo (http://www.bhphoto.com) - which is a reputable place - but you'll still be saving significantly off retail.

I personally bought a Sony PC9 - which was under $1100 at BHPhoto.

I have the zr10 and it's perfect for my needs. the zr20 will do just fine for you.
