I am trying to get video from a DV camera (that came out before firewire was the thing, so it doesn't have a FW connection) and from a VCR. My father wants to preserve a lot of home videos we have on tape and on DV tape... So I Suppose I am looking for a firewire device that connects RCA cables and converts them to Firewire for input.
Any quick help would be greatly appreciated.

This isn't really an iMac question, it's a Multimedia and DV question.
Still, sony makes a firewire to analog bridge, as does Dazzle.
Please, ask this question in the Multimedia forum! Thanks!

If it doesn't have a FireWire port, it's not a DV camcorder!

I'm sorry
But it is a JVC Digital Video camera. It's just old (er).
Oh, and thanks for the info...
