DV-NTSC uses 210 MB/sec - so, about 22 minutes in 4.6 gigs of space. if you export using another codec/size, then the result will naturally be different. depends what you want to do with it.

didja write a video player for iPod?

I have a lot of movies that I have saved with the Sorenson Video 3 Compressor. I export them from FCP or iMovie and I can fit 6 hours of video with the IMA 4:1 audio and 190K/s video that does not look any different than the DV original.
