OK. I have an MPEG file I would like to split. I tried MPEGSplit (included in the Sparkle package) which promptly froze my computer, forcing a hard restart. Not cool.

This started me thinking: what other programs exist which do the same thing? I can open the MPEG in QuickTime, but that won't allow me to export the audio track because it's a "muxed" MPEG.

Are there any other applications which can be used to separate the audio track from the video track?

Thanks!

Go to www.versiontracker.com and search for bbdemux.

Although it has to be said that bbdemux seriously sucks (personal opinion). What you could do though is to get Macamp and the AudioHijack plug-in, that lets you record any sound coming through a specific application. Which, of course, rocks.
Anyway, just a suggestion.
