I'm VERY unhappy with Limewire's performance. Is there any other Mac-friendly service out there that works nearly as well as the fallen Napster?

(I'm mostly interested in BritPop and Film Soundtracks)

for britpop, the only place for me is audiogalaxy.com

i've stopped using limewire altogether, and now i just use Sputnix with audiogalaxy. of course, Sputnix only works in OS X. there is an audiogalaxy satellite for OS 9, but i haven't had much success with it, plus i hate going into 9, or using classic.

mac audiogalaxy satellites:

OS 9: macsatellite
http://www.versiontracker.com/morein...d=11686&db=mac

OS X: sputnix
http://www.versiontracker.com/morein...d=12637&db=mac

it's a little tricky to use, but once you understand how it works, it's great! go to audiogalaxy.com and click on the 'download satellite' link, there is a little explanation of how it works and stuff.

good luck,

tr

Many thanks for the information. Alas, I found the service somewhat lacking in content.

I was looking more for AudioGnome for the Mac rather than something that actually blocks popular songs.

Any other suggestions?

MANY thanks for you help!

Actually, many of my PC friends DEPEND upon Morpheus. I'm sorry to hear that all of you find that LimeWire is a bad program. The problem is, the older versions were much better. On my Mac at home, luckily I still have an older version of LimeWire that works much better. However, I find the Satellite to be a lot less useful.

According to the latest Morhpheus newsletter:

1) When are you going to release a MAC version?

We plan to have a MAC compatible version in spring of 2002. Thanks for your patience.
