i am having problems getting fcp to see my dv camera
last time i used it a few weeks ago everything worked fine, but now it won't see the camera that's connected and keeps complaining there is nothing...

i've had this before and solved it by changing the cable for a new one. i'll try this in the morning - as it is sunday evening, round midnight, there's not too many shops that sell these at this time of the day.... haha

but if it is the cable, then i manage to "wear this cable out" in under 3 months and only 2 projects...
i keep the cable loosly rolled up, in the same way they are sold. but the first one i had quickly became all uneven in thickness and that's also when it stopped working...

does anyone else have experiences like this?
do people have experiences with some cables being better or less prone to this kind of problems than others?
and how do i test wether it is my cable, the software or hardware at either end?????

thanks
