Hi masters!
I'm sure someone out there can help me in viewing on my iMac 450 video files .avi and .tvt.
I cannot believe these opportunities are forbidden to us Mac users ...
Which is the best video player to download for this purpose?
Thanks in advance and keep rolling,
Michele

Why not just use QuickTime? There are codecs for about 90% of the .avi files out there.
Check out http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n30506 it has some information about the .avi codecs. Although, Apple has recently been rearranging their download area and I couldn't seem to find the actual files to download. Do a search for "indeo" and you may find them. Of course, Windows/PC developers are always trying to write new codecs so you'll never be able to keep up with all of the available software, but you should be able to play most of them!

A little more digging around and I found that even though there are no direct links to the software from the TIL mentioned above (Thanks to Apple for rearranging everything), the software is still there if you browse for it (searching for it from the Apple software updates page returns an error).
http://downloAd.info.apple.com/Apple...tem/QuickTime/
This directory has all three (3, 4 & 5) of the Indeo codecs for QuickTime. Now, these won't play EVERY .avi ever written, but they do cover most of them.

Thanks Doug, I downloaded and put them all in the extension directory, but it doesn't work the same ... Any new idea?
By the way, the opportunity to see the .tvt files is completely impossible for a Mac user?
Thanks again,
M.

Try "http://www.ualberta.ca/FTP/mac/internet/helper_apps/VfW_1.1_Utilities.sit.hqx". Put Windows Compressors in the extensions folder.
