OK, i burned a dvd movie in dvd studio pro on a 733 newest machine. burned it on a CDR. it played in the 733 g4 superdrive as a dvd, then it played in a windows machine dvd rom, i bring it home to my g4 400 and my imac 400 dvse and it plays for like ten seconds and then freezes. apple tells me you cant burn dvd to a cdr, what are video cd's that everyone keeps talking about, and why does it play well for like ten seconds, i am very savvy with all this video stuff, and have allocated all the memory and have 2.7 dvplayer and evryhting. i do have Titanium Toast on the way will this help? any help would be great.

Video CDs are CDs which contain a movie file that has been encoded with MPEG-1 format. DVD movies are DVD disks with files that have been encoded with MPEG-2 format. DVDs can hold a lot more information than a CD (CDs hold about 650MB of data and DVDs can hold about 4,700MB of data).

There is a new format called "miniDVD" that is a CD with MPEG-2/DVD formatted files on it. Very few DVD players support this format, but it is possible.

I'm not sure if that helps, I have no idea what you've done. :-) It sounds like a general problem with the iMac, can you play other DVDs in your iMac?
