Decoding multiple segmented mpeg's freezes G3

I am having problems opening multiple segmented mpeg files.For example,a movie is 263 parts long and is broken down into 23 part segments for easy download.I can download and view file 01 which may be 30 parts long. When after downloading and trying to view parts 02,03 etc,my system freezes.Can anyone help?I am running a Beige G3 with syst.8.1 and Quicktime 5.0.1.Thanks,Bill.
