I am not sure if this is where I should post this, since this is my first post. My work is about to buy me the Final Cut Pro 2/ RTMac Card Bundle. I am concerned, with the upcoming Mac Convention, that Final Cut Pro 2.0 will come out for OS X. If that is the case, I would rather buy the OS X version because of its better memory management abilities than the OS 9 Version. So, my question(s):

How do you think the OS X version of FCP 2.0 will equate to the OS 9 version with the RTMac card?

If the OS X version is coming out soon, do you think there will be a driver for the RTMac card?

Hopefully Apple would have seen this and will debut the NEW OSX FCP w/RTMac bundle...that would be sweet.

Please give me your thoughts.

I don't believe that a an OS X version of FCP 2.0 will be released at MWNY. I have no info on that though. IF it is released i would doubt that the drivers for the RtMac card would be ready to go straight away. If i was you i would stick to 9.1 for awhile until the other heavyweight apps like After Effects and Commotion etc are released for X.

As always check www.2-pop.com for more.

Don't expect FCP for OSX during the next months. It would be very nice to have it, but considering the problems OSX still has I wouldn't be too optimistic. FCP is a huge app which has very high demands to the OS and the hardware, porting it is no small task.

I guess we have to wait half a year to have to whole line (DVD Studio Pro, FCP, Film logic) ported.
