Hello,

I used my new digital video camera PC100E to take a few pictures on the memory stick (4MB) that was bundled with it. I baught a USB adaptor (MSAC-US1) to be able to download those pictures from the stick to my Macintosh.

I can access the Memory STick but nothing seems to on it. It seems to be empty. But the information box says "9 items", 40 k free on 3 MB ... and I can see the pictures on my camera, they are still there, but not on my Mac.

I tried with a new 16 MB memory stick and it works just normal.

How can I see my pictures on that 4 MB Memory Stick and where can I check for the latest USB Memory Stick reader for Macintosh ? The Sony site is so confusing and so "PC" oriented that I could'nt find anything.

Thank you very much for your help !!

Patrick

The USB adaptor you have is the latest one. I've used it with no problems with the MS out of my PC100E for 6 months now without any problems.

When you put the MS into the reader do you open all of the sub-folders to get to the one with the images in it? When you get there have you tried looking in Finder List mode (View -> as List).

Actually I can open an endless number of folders... it is very strange. The 1st one is called "DCIM", when I open it I see "100MSDCF" then I should see my pictures ... but not at all ! I open it and see the "DCIM" folder, then the "100MSDCF", etc. etc. Uh ... any idea ?

This problem has been around for a while (see http://www.macintouch.com/memorystick.html).

There are a few possible solutions;

1. What version of MacOS are your running. It could be that you need an update to PC File Exchange.

2. Reformat the MS in the camera then try it.

Hope this helps.

I've had the MS USB reader working with MacOS 8.5, 9.0 and 9.1.
