Although I've set maximum memory allocation to 15 MB, currently Quicktime is taking up no less than 87 MB of RAM. This is slightly, nay, VERY annoying.
Anyone know why and how to remedy the situation?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for being unprecise; it is the Quicktime Player that's eating RAM. After some further research I can say that it seems to be happening when opening several compressed clips at once. The clips are compressed with 3ivx.
The player also exceeds maximum RAM allocation when opening other types of clips (mpeg, DV, etc.) but not to the same extent. Opening 3 sub-800 kB 3ivx clips just now made Quicktime Player take 199 MB of memory (maximum for the QT player is still set to 15MB).
Maybe the codec is the culprit? Or a bug in QT 5.0.2?
Thanks for your assistance!
