Hi.

A friend of mine (who has a PC ... nobody is perfect) let me a CD he burned with into MPEGs files. Well, the extension is .MPG.

When I try to open it with QT, I've got an alert message telling me a component software is missing (because I had the same problem with QT 4.1.2 I just downloaded QT 5 PR2). The same, in spite of the QT MPEG extension.

I tried to open the files with Windows Media Player (thanks to Virtual PC fist) : it runs. I tried to open them with WMP mac beta version : no way. Divx is also unable to open them.

How to see them ?
Thank you very much,
Pierre.

Windows might be using the indeo compression. You can download the extensions at the Apple Support page. This usually helps with some AVI files that don't work.

Serach for Indeo. Download 3,4, and 5 and restart. It should work then.

mpeg-1 is mpeg-1 no matter the platform. If it's indeo or DivX, then it's .avi. It's possible that the wrong extension was put on, but then Windows peobably wouldn't work. hmmmm.
