The AVI really means nothing. It's the same as a QuickTime movie, etc. What you need to view AVI's or QuickTime movies is a player (I prefer QuickTime) and the right codecs (compressor-decompressor) to view the movie. Your AVI movie could be compressed using the Sorenson, Cinepak, or Animation codec, and your computer will need to understand how to play the file (needs the right codec). So, I would suggest opening the file in QuickTime first, and see if it plays or whatnot. If that doens't work, then try perhaps Windows Media Player and see if that plays the file for you.
