As indicated my QT 5 Preview 1 (French version) expired today.I tried to go back to QT 4.1.2 French on Apple French site and the loading was interrupted because of a bad file. I turned on the US site to get it, same error. I saw that a QT 5 Preview 3 is available in US English (i don't mind the language) but it specifies to be used on US system only so now i am very stuck with no QuickTime at all. I have MacOS 9.1 FU (French) Can i try to load the US preview after removing all QuickTime files on my hard Disk? For prior versions of QT 3 and 4), that was possible but i am not sure for this one. Any info about it?

Well, look at it this way. Since you can't get anything else to work you may as well get the Preview 3 in US English and give it a go.

Definitely throw out your old quicktime extentions first.

I had the same problems with the US version of QT on top of the French OS. Turns out that you have to de-activate your "Gestionnaire de Son" in the extension manager and let the "Sound Manager" from the US version take over. If you don't, you are guaranteed to crash at start-up.

Well better news now, QT 4.1.2 F is loadable now, they corrected the corrupted file. But is there any OS 9.1 FU user that tried to load the QT 5 preview 3?
An answer would be nice. I have already loaded the QT 5 Preview 3 installer and i am waiting before installing it.
For a long time, i used QT 4 US on a French OS without a problem after cleanind the doubled files (French and US)
Thanks GRAFF for the tip about Sound Manager and 'Gestionnaire de son).
I cleaned every QT 5 file with Sherlock but i forgot about this one.
