Windows DV to Mac

Hello I was wondering if it is possible to take a DV movie from a camera to a windows laptop via firewire (or what ever it is they call it, IEEE???) and then transfer into iMovie on my mac. The reason being I might have access to a Wintel laptop, and the DV camera belongs to a friend in another city. I just don't want to lug around my G4.
