Is there a way that I can edit mp2 video in Final Cut Pro? I had it compressed into this format when I imported it with a video card. Now, I want to combine this footage with my existing digital video. I have the file as mp2, but nothing recognizes/plays it! What should I do?

You need the MacMpeg2Decoder. You can find it off of VersionTracker.

It will decode the MPEG2 into a QuickTime Movie format which can easily be edited.
