Call me a wuss, but this seems to be much more difficult than I believe it ought to be. All I want is a small QuickTime movie with an image scrolling continuously in a loop, like a scrolling QTVR picture. Actually, it's an image of a freight car repeating like a never-ending train, viewed through a window about 1/2 freight car wide. Animated GIFs seem choppy, so I thought I'd try to get smooth, slow motion with QuickTime.

I have a G4 with OS 9, QT Pro 4, and GoLive.

First, I tried adding a push transition in QuickTime. I divided the image into equal-width pieces, and pasted them into a new QuickTime movie. I tried to add a push transition to simulate motion, but couldn't find any controls to do it, and no instructions in the online help at Apple's site.

Next I tried GoLIve's QuickTime editor, which proved much, much more cumbersome than I'd expected. After two hours of studying the manual and experimenting, I had nothing useful.

I could take it to work and build it in Adobe Premier, but it just bothers me that something so basic can't be easily done with what I have. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Rick

Only with automatic scrolling.

Yes, just like that! Only with automatic scrolling. Can something like that be done with the QuickTime Pro viewer, or does that require special multimedia software?

Of course, if I wanted a huge picture, I could always use iMovie...

I made this qtvr in photoshop, saved as pict and then used 'QTVR Make Panorama' which is available at http://developer.apple.com/quicktime...meintro/tools/
make sure and read the read me and dont forget to rotate the pict.

I don't know how to make the qtvr autoplay, but Golive might do it, adobe have some tutorials on their web site, or you might find help at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/tutorials/

I hope this helps.

Doug,

Thanks! Yes, that helps a lot! I also downloaded "MakeEffectSlideShow" which was on the same page. That looks promising as well.

Thank you *very* much for your help!
