i've wanted to do that for a long time, but can't figure how. i have 10 minutes of video and i would love to create a "mini DVD" with menu and a background song and after burn it as a dvd on a cdrw using toast.

is there a way to do that? i never watched what they called a video-cd. what is it? can it contained a menu or you pop-it in the dvd and it starts to play??

i don't think there is a way to get a menu on a vcd.

good news is dvd burners are getting cheaper - the pioneer dvr-a03 is finally under $500 (and now sitting inside my dp500 ).

It is possible to do it. I have read about it in a UK Home cinema madgzine. You can only record a very short video but it does work. However I am not sure what package you need to author the recording. You might need to do it on a PC based system.
