but i'ts not. iMovie 2 isn't seeing the Canon Ultura connected via FireWire. I've tried everything I can think of:

- Booted with the 9.0.4 all extensions
- Checked and used both ports
- Tried various start ups (camera off/on, before/after iMovie off/on, etc)
- New cable
- Followed iMovie instructions on connecting camera to iMac
- All FireWire extensions on

Can anyone help?!

DV iMac
OS 9.0.4
QT 5.0.2

T Allen,

Is there a reason you're running 9.0.4 instead of 9.2.2? Also, do you have the latest version of iMovie? 2.1.1 is the most recent that I know of.

Also maybe try booting into the "Base" extension set; you may have extension conflicts that aren't solved by booting into "Mac OS All."

9.0.4 on my system works great. I've been burned before with OS upgrades. (An upgrade is coming soon - now that Phototshop's here.)

I found the problem. It was a bum 3rd party FireWire cable. The minute I swithched to an Apple cable everything worked fine.

Thanks for the help MountainMac.
