Is There Anyway to Speed up iDVD?

It seems to me i have read something somewhere at sometime about a way to make iDVD compress your quicktime files faster...there's nothing more annoying to me then waiting 6-8 hours for iDVD to compress the files. anyone know of anyway to speed this process up, besides buying a faster mac or something thanks
