Hi all,

This is what I need to do, please help.

1. I need to burn an audio CD with 9 tracks/songs.
2. All those 9 songs can be found in my CD collection.
3. I need to adjust the volume of each song.
4. I also need to adjust the time between each song.
5. On the final track, I need to Add some recorded msg at the end of the song, the msg should still be inside the 9th track.
6. And then, save everything into a FW HD, and use another Mac with a burner to burn the final product. I only need an hour access on that Mac so I have to finish everything on my mac.
7. If possible, I want to put CD Text on each track.

Which software I need? I have a Cube w/ iMic, how to record msg on the Mac? I tried to drag audio CD track to HD, but it won't copy the song.

Please help, I am doing it for a very important birthday gift, life and death situation here. And get it done before next weekend

Thanks

John

You'll need to use Adaptec Jam to alter the volume and then burn, I think. iTunes 2 might be able to do it, but it can't change the track gap.

For the final track, after recording the message to AIFF, convert the final track to AIFF, and using QuickTime Player, copy your recording and paste it on the end of the song, then export as AIFF.

You'll have to set up Jam on the other Mac. Or, you could set it up on yours the save the disc, I think...

Thanks for the quick reply, Cipher.

One very dumb question.
How to record sound into the Mac? :o

Sound panel do recognized the iMic as input.

Jam works great to burn audio CD's (as Cipher 13 mentioned), adjust volume and pause, as well as use crossfeed . I use it with 9.x all the time and love it.

To record sound - it depends on the quality that you need. In the past, I've recorded sound using the sound control panel, then click on the sound bit you just made (in the list) and drag it to where you want to store it.

Or, you could use free software like Sound Recorder: http://dgrwww.epfl.ch/~jenny/SoundRecorder.hqx

Or Peak (not free): http://www.bias-inc.com/

To add sound to the end of a track, just use good ol' QuickTime Pro

Open both sound files, select all and copy the first, and then paste to the second. Of course, you can choose where to paste it by clicking at the beginning, the end, or even somewhere in the middle of the second track. Export as an aiff sound file.
