problems exporting to vcd

when using final cut pro 3, i try to export in quicktime format to vcd, and when i do that.. then when i go to watch it on dvd player.. it is really choppy and stuff like that and it doesnt work.. any help maybe?

and also, when i go to watch it on PC it shows, but on a apple computer it does not if permit it.
would it help to make a low resolution version maybe?

If you're making a VCD, that's not an option, the mpeg has to be 325x240 and 1150 kbps (for NTSC). DVD players can be picky about the type of CDs you use, try burning the VCD on differnet color media, or a CDRW. My apex skips every couple of seconds on silver CDs.

that's 352x240
yeah, my roommate's dvd player would read CD-RW discs but not CD-Rs
blackmail is such an ugly word. I prefer extortion. the X makes it sound cool

aww well, i am burning with cd-r's and its more of a greenish color on the botoom.

Give it a try with a cdrw - they seem to be the most compatible with DVD players. You can look up your player on this site and see if it plays cdrs or cdrws.

thanks, but i decided to burn it first as a data cd, then put it on PC and burn it as vcd with that.. and it worked perfectly.... hmm..
