Hi everybody,
I have a Sony TRV 900E and have it connected to the 867 G4 through firewire. G4 says that it doesnt recgnise any external device and the camera (in the DV editing menu) says "not ready" as if there is no other hardware connected to it. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks for your time.

reegas -

So would I as I have the US version (no-E) and have just ordered a G4/667. It's my chance to show what Apple/FCP/et al can do compared to .... the less informed.

Although I don't have the same model. My TRV 103 works great with my 450 mp. What program are you using to capture with?

I am using Final Cut Pro but I think it has nothing to do, what are you using?

I currently use FCP but have also captured in imovie a while back. Both worked great. Just plug and play. Seems weird that your newer hardware, from the exact same manufacturers as mine, are incompatible.

Could it be a bad cable or connection? How about making sure you extensions are current and there's no conflict (there goes a few hours).

My research on FCP tells me its compatability is good and then there's the Mac system ... I'll know shortly.

BTW - Got the 667Ti today (having moved from 7.6.1 on a Day 1 G3);
I've to to take a minute to look this sweet machine over.
