I am running virtual pc 3.0 on my iMac DV 400 with OS 9.2. I have mp3's on the PC side. Is there a way I can transfer them to the mac side so I can burn them on my CDRW.
Thanks

Share the Mac folder you want them in and copy them into it.
Most likely the filenames will be too long, so use MP3 Rage to shorten them to 31 characters.

Sorry if this is a simple question, but how do you share the folder between the PC side using virtual pc and the mac side?
Thanks

I don't have 3 running (I have 4) but there's a Shared Folders setting in the Preferences. Or, if there's a folder icon on the bottom of the VPC window, you can drag the icon of the Mac folder to that icon. It will then show up in the Windows Explorer program.

ummm...i guess to make this sort of on topic, another good tool tool to edit filenames and id3 tags of those mp3's is
ID3X.

what about a straight drag-and-drop to your mac desktop from the windows one? this works for me in vpc 5 with windows 2k.

On VPC 4 and 5, you can drag the files straight from Windows to the Mac (although sometimes long file names will cause problems, so if a file won't drag, rename it short). But here's the real kicker: instead of dragging to the Finder, drag straight from Windows to iTunes. iTunes will read the ID3 tags and copy them, organized into folders by artist and album, just as if they'd just been encoded in iTunes!
