Can you crop music in iMovie?

I am working on a small film and I can not figure this one out. I am trying to add music to the ending credits of my film, but I want a certain section of an mp3 I imported to the project. I know Quicktime Pro will edit audio but i was hoping iMovie has this feature, and I didn't know about it. I really don't want to pay $30 for Quicktime Pro just for this small audio cropping job. Anyone have any comments or suggestions? Thanks!

While you are working in the timeline at the bottom of the screen:
1. go to the Edit menu and choose "split selected audio clip at playhead"
2. Then use the fadein/fadeout features to make it sound good.
