Experience with ProMax drives and DV?

Anyone have experience with capturing/editing DV on ProMax external FireWire drives? They say they tested them with Final Cut Pro, etc., but I want to get some different opinions. My internal drive is maxed out, and I'm looking for an external drive I can swap between my desktop and (someday) PowerBook. I'll be using iMovie 2.
