i just re-installed OS 8.6 and upgraded my Quicktime to 4.1. Upon restart, all my jpegs have QT 3.0 icons and the Pictureviewer Icon is also a QT 3.0 icon. All the quicktime extentions/appz are 4.1. Before the re-install of 8.6, i had no problems. Does anyony know how to fix this?

what have you done so far to try to fix it?

rebuild desktop?

did you run Norton Disk Doctor or DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro to try and fix?

ive tried rebuiding dsktop and norton with no luck. I have yet to try tech tool. The problem seems to be isolated to the desktop only... very odd!

put your QuickTime preferences and maybe the Finder Preferences file in the trash and restart, maybe that'll do it
