Thank you for your comments Westponge.

I have an iMac DVSE with the standard 128MB ram. The memory setting is the default setting which is with VM on at 129M. Do I need to change this setting? If so, to what setting?

I am a new computer user and new to the forum. I tried to reply on the previous thread, but it was closed. Did someone close it? Is there a time limit for the thread? I just posted the question yesterday.

Again, I thank you in advance for your comments.

Westponge,

I turned VM off and it got worst. It skipped more frequently and at times it was continuous. Do you think there may be a problem with the rams that came with the computer?

you should note that the post in question was transferred to a more appropriate forum for addressing the post.

there is always a notation above a closed and transferred post stating where it was transferred to.

simple.

make sure that you have the latest quicktime version, using the quicktime updater located in the same folder as the quicktime player itself. Next, since i'm assuming that you're listening to streaming media off of the web, make sure that your connection speed is appropriate to the connection you have. you can configure this in the preference sub-menu under the "edit" menu when you're in the application. and lastly, you may want to try increasing the memory partition to the application itself, under the "get-info" command, and go to the "memory" setting sub-menu in that dialouge, and increase the memory in the 'preffered" memory box. hope that helps

I did everything you said and I am still having the same problem.

I thank you anyway. I welcome other suggestions that you may have.
