QT4 or QT3

I have used both QT 4 and QT 3 on my 5400/180 and I have learned that QT 3 is the better choice for me. I want to know if any one else agrees that QT 4 is best on G3's and up and maybe 604 systems. I am not saying it didn't work, it worked fine, but for Video Playback (What I use it most for) QT 3 was better.

I think QuickTime 4 should still work fine with with Macs like the one you have. QuickTime 4 support more formats and the player is better than the one in QuickTime 3 I think.

I think QT4.1 or 4.0.3(for 68000 machines) is only superior to QT3 when you pay the $29 to upgrade to the PRO version! You're almost buying back some of what the upgrade takes away. In some ways QT3 is still better, but it's subtle "workflow" personal preferences!
Some people when comparing the two forget that they're actually running the PRO version (Of QT4) so it's an unfair comparison and can be confusing for someone searching for the invisible features on the bare FREE version!!!

you are suggesting an illegal method of registering QT Pro?
this is not acceptable to MacNN Forum usage guidelines.

When QT 3 came out I did use a illegal code on it (not gona say which program) and found the extra features so useful I paid for it later. In the end it feels much better to have paid for the software. Dont get me wrong there is a place for hackuser and others cause I have saved so much money on testing software, that I am glad I did not buy cuz it plain sucked or didn't work well or at all. Just buy what you use and hack what you might use.
I hope you dont mind me adding this comment about hack programs wlonh, if you feel this is inappropriate for macnn forums, remove this.

If you can find an old version of the QuickTime player (3.0 beta or earlier, 2.5 will work) you can use most of the features of the Pro version (or at least this was so with 3.0, I'm not sure about 4.0). It also eliminates the platinum look.

Movie Player 2.5 will allow you to see full screen movies and stuff under QT 3, not 4. Or at least it didn't work for me but I didn't spend time doing that. But Movie player does not take advantage of the best parts of QT 3 or 4 and it is better just to have the real thing. I find Picture Veiwer great with 4.0 but Quicktime player I could live with out.
