hi, wondering if anyone else has experienced this...I never had any problems with QT 4 Pro, but since upgrading to QT 5 Pro, the trailers I have downloaded that are made just for QT5 are unwatchable - it seems to slow the whole system down (jerky mouse movements etc). THe video can't keep up with the audio at all. For example the small and medium Star Wars II trailers worked fine, but the large one was hopeless - same with Lord of the Rings. Has anyone else had this happen?

My system- OS 9.1, imac bondi 233mhz, 160mb RAM

Haven't seen this problem. QT 5 is super.

Try deleting the QT preferences. When I upgraded to QT 5 I had problems with sound. Read some posts suggesting this and worked. Cleared up all the QT problems I had.

Have you defraged in a while. Maybe the data rate is too high for your system. I know it doesn't make much sense, since it's a movie trailer downloaded from the internet. But the problems you discribe can definately be a result of this.

I downloaded the Monsters, and large Star Wars trailers. The Monster trailer plays great - full screen and all. The Star Wars trailer is terrible; nothing but skipping and dropped frames at full screen mode. In normal size it plays fine, but what good is that?

I found that I could get the star wars trailer to play OK full screen by switching to 800x600 first. I know you shouldn't have to do that, but it's better than nothing....give it a try. (I'm on OS X 10.1, G4/400 sawtooth)
